3) Authenticity on Stormy
Stormy is about real people and real moments. Don’t pass off staged, fabricated, or heavily altered content as unedited reality. If you share synthetic or AI-generated content, label it clearly and don’t use it to deceive, harass, or impersonate.
4) Age-Appropriate Use
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service and to create an account. If the laws of your country of residence require a higher minimum age to use the Service, you must meet that minimum age to use the Service and create an account.
If we have actual knowledge that you are under 13 years of age, or under the applicable minimum age in your country of residence, we will delete your account and any associated personal data, and cease providing the Service to you. Teen accounts have additional protections, and we may limit their exposure to mature content.
5) Content That May Be Restricted
Some content is permitted in limited contexts (e.g., news, education, support groups) but may be restricted or shown with warnings:
Substance use (alcohol, tobacco, legal substances) by adults.
Discussions of mental health or trauma with supportive intent.
Sensitive newsworthy content like protests or conflict, when shared responsibly.
6) Enforcement: What Happens If You Break the Rules
Depending on the severity, intent, and history, we may:
Remove content and notify you.
Limit your posting or messaging abilities.
Temporarily suspend your account.
Permanently disable your account for serious or repeated violations.
Severe harms (like child exploitation, drug trafficking, or violent extremism) lead to immediate account removal and possible reporting to authorities.
7) Reporting & Appeals
Report: Use the in-app tools to report posts, profiles and messages.
Block: Take control of your experience by blocking accounts.
Appeal: If you think we made a mistake, contact our support through the Appeal category in the support form on our website.
8) Tips for Safer Sharing
Ask before you post others, especially minors.
Think context. Humor can be misread; avoid cruel or harmful jokes.
Limit location sharing unless you’re sure it’s safe.
Secure your account with a strong password.
If someone is at risk, report it and contact local emergency services.
9) Creators, Brands, & Public Figures
If you publish to large audiences on Stormy, you’re held to a higher bar:
Follow advertising laws and label sponsored content.
Don’t post shocking or harmful material for attention.
Keep content safe for teens, especially when appearing in recommendations.
10) Legal & Policy Notes
These Guidelines sit alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Violations may have legal consequences.
We may update these Guidelines as features and laws evolve. The latest version will always be published here.
We may cooperate with law enforcement when people are at risk or the law requires it.
